Teoma Industrial has been at the forefront of providing industrial electrical solutions to diverse industries for over 25 years. With a team of Industrial Electricians, in-house CMSE® – Certified Machinery Safety Experts, and Engineers, the team has consistently delivered projects that combine innovation, safety, and efficiency. As a premium contractor, Teoma is steadfast in its commitment to executing projects of a high calibre, all the while ensuring minimal disruptions to the operating environment.
The Autoclave Upgrade and Automation Project is a testament to Teoma Group’s commitment to sustainable solutions. This project entailed the meticulous design, fabrication, and installation of two state-of-the-art Autoclaves. Designed to treat sensitive waste in an eco-friendly manner, these machines, unlike traditional methods that rely on chemicals, use pressurised moisture and heat to sterilise and eradicate microbial flora and fauna. This not only ensures a reduction in chemical disposal into landfills but also signifies a leap towards more sustainable waste management practices.
Teoma Group’s role in this project was pivotal. Teoma Industrial’s Assistant Industrial Operations Manager (Autoclaves Project Manager) worked closely with Teoma’s in-house engineering department, A-grade electricians, and the customer to deliver a seamless project outcome.A significant portion of the build, which included intricate tasks like the modification and installation of control boards, valves, sensors, and motors, was meticulously executed on Teoma’s premises. This strategic decision optimised the project timeline, ensuring a timely delivery without compromising on quality.
Adding to the project’s success was the involvement of Teoma Group’s in-house Mechanical Division. Their presence on-site was instrumental in delivering bespoke upgrades and solutions tailored to the project’s unique requirements. Our team’s expertise ensured that the client’s deadline and specifications were met, further solidifying Teoma’s reputation for excellence and adaptability.
One of the major hurdles was assembling the Autoclaves in the Teoma workshop in such a way that they could be easily transported and reassembled at the customer’s site. This was crucial to progress the project efficiently and minimise downtime.
The engineering team, with their innovative mindset, introduced a machine-safe solenoid lock for the door-locking mechanism a critical feature in ensuring operator safety, Furthermore, a bespoke dual valve design was developed to achieve a CAT.4 safety control circuit for the steam inlet, addressing the lack of fit-for-purpose dual valves available in the commercial market.
Sustainability was a core focus of this project. The Autoclaves, with their energy-efficient design, achieve a significant reduction in power consumption compared to traditional operations. This not only translates to reduced operational costs but also contributes to fewer greenhouse gas emissions, marking a significant step towards a cleaner environment and emerging net-zero targets.
Quality assurance is always a paramount facet of any project that Teoma Industrial delivers. Throughout the project, the team identified and rectified discrepancies in the control system, ensuring everything was in line with Australian best practices. This commitment to quality was further solidified by third-party assessments and validated the team’s efforts and the project’s adherence to quality standards.
The Autoclave Upgrade & Automation Project stands as an example of Teoma Group’s dedication to innovation, quality, and sustainability. As the company continues its journey, it remains unwavering in its commitment to delivering state-of-the-art industrial solutions that not only meet but exceed client expectations.
