The project purpose was to provide all necessary electrical services to facilitate the commissioning and ongoing use of a sand processing system. The plant, being supplied by CDE Global, was imported into Australia with Teoma Electrical And Industrial Automation being relied on for all electrical aspects from establishment of a new electrical supply through to the commissioning of the plant. The plant as installed will facilitate the washing and grading of various sand products that will be provided in bulk to the construction industry and directly retailed through the clients outlet relationships. As many in the construction industry would know, there is a vast array of sand products varying in particle size, clay content, and in physical shape characteristics.

Many of these products need to be specifically graded to ensure they are fit for purpose; for example, a small particle sand with clay content will not be suitable for concrete as it will be insufficient as fill material and the clay prevents cement from successfully adhering to all facets of the sand particle. By installing a wash and grading system as provided by CDE Global the client will be able to successfully and consistently process the sand ensuring that it is highly consistent and fit for purpose with the end user.

Installing a modern and current processing plant, recovery rates will be greater and less reliant on product state as it exits the ground. With advanced processing and wash capabilities resource recovery will be greater.

A Well developed plant like this ensures highly replicable process control ensuring that the end product is to standard and that consistent outcomes can be experienced further through the supply chain to the end user.

Expansion & Growth:

This investment allows the client to expand operations by having the additional processing capability offered by an additional modern system. With access to the large pit and a consistent product out of the ground, the company can look to keep expanding production to meet industry demand consistently into the future.

Teoma was engaged early in the project to handle all electrical aspects including design and the final installation. Teoma engaged with all stakeholders working to establish demand requirements of the site ensuring that future supply was available for further expansion in the near future. Teoma Worked closely with the supply authority to negotiate supply and a connection point that was beneficial to the client.

Teoma engaged a boring contractor to complete the initial conduit run to the supply location. As requested by the client, the remaining on site excavation was carried out by the client. As operators of a sand mine, they had ample and adequate equipment to carry out the remaining trenching. The team then completed the installation of all conduits in preparation for the supply establishment.

Due to the clients tight timelines, it was necessary to establish a temporary generator supply to facilitate commissioning and to begin processing material. At this stage, the project scope expanded to include Teoma providing the necessary electrical connections to facilitate the entire plant operating from a temporary generator system.

At this time the industrial automation and electrical team worked rapidly to install all cable trays in preparation for cable and control wire runs to all motors and necessary feedback systems. With all tray installed successfully, the team moved on to work on commissioning working closely with the CDE Global team internationally to ensure the project was ready to begin trial processing.
