Summary

The Teoma team takes great pride in our work at all levels regardless of the overall project size, this sports lighting project is no different. Our long term clients are aware of the large works we complete for councils across Victoria. Projects like Dandenong Drum Theatre, Multi-Story Carpark projects in Stonnington, and even a facility backup generator that the team installed on top of the seven-story office facility in Kingston.

We typically talk about these projects in the scope of the technical challenge and the capability of our team. However, there is another reason our company enjoys working on these local government projects. And that is the direct impact these have on the local community. This court lighting project in Corinella falls into this latter category.

Sports Lighting Project Scope

For this project, Teoma handled all of the electrical and lighting installations from start to finish. This included excavation & in-grounds and the standing of the 12 meter light poles. The installation of these light poles also included design certification and installation of the pole foundations, which fell into Teoma’s project scope. This project was initiated in early 2022, only now approaching completion in November due to the unexpected impact of the pandemic restrictions in Victoria.

This was a straightforward project working with the familiar team at R&C Asphalt who acted as project principal. Teoma has partnered with R&C Asphalt on a number of projects previously. It has been great to see this relationship extended.

As an electrical contractor, this sports lighting project is not our largest or most technical. However, our work here enhances the local community through improved accessibility to sports. Access to sports facilities is a part of the Bass Coast Shire Councils 2030 plan. Although this is just one project undertaken by the shire council, it is a marker of their continued commitment and we are thankful to have played a part in helping realize the end objective.
