How it all started
1999
Established in 1999, Nick Masson launched the family operated business Elec-Trix Contractors Pty Ltd, with the goal of becoming a respected named in the electrical contracting space. From conception, the main business philosophy has always been to provide quality workmanship and reliability for all clients, while working collaboratively to find bespoke solutions for each project.
2007
Nick’s team grew steadily from hiring his first apprentice in 2000, having joined the Laser Group in 2007. The team continued to excel in the commercial electrical space, quickly expanding to 28 staff.
2017
In 2017, Nick embarked on his next chapter of business’ development, acquiring Laser Electrical Hallam, a premium industrial electrical contractor, with its own in-house team of engineers. The merger retained an additional 18 staff, bringing the total to 46.
2019
The following year included the acquisition of the Laser group by O’Brien which saw the team continue to develop an enviable reputation as industry experts. It was during this period the business attracted and retained numerous inhouse business support services, Certified Machinery Safety Experts and Mechanical Technicians to the business.
2021
The summer of 2021 saw the acquisition of ATB Boring & Trenching Services, one of Melbourne’s oldest and prestigious civil contractors. With 30 years’ experience in the installation of electrical communication conduit and cabling for the construction industry and energy companies, the team continued to go from strength to strength.
2023
With a proven operating system and solid management structure, Nick, supported by the Executive team, continued the evolution of Elec-trix Contractors Pty Ltd. transitioning to Teoma Group. With over 75 talented team members and over 24 years since the launch, the team have solidified their place as revered, diverse and sustainable leaders in the industry, providing high quality projects to the community.
